苏州刺绣 | Suzhou Embroidery
苏州的苏绣大师叫沈绣娘，四十八岁，一针一线能绣出比画还美的图案。
Suzhou embroidery master Shen Xiuniang, forty-eight, stitched patterns more beautiful than paintings.
"苏绣讲究'精、细、雅、洁'，" 她说，丰满的手指在绣框上飞舞，"和做人一样。"
"Suzhou embroidery values 'precision, delicacy, elegance, purity,'" she said, her full fingers dancing on the frame. "Like being a person."
北京景泰蓝 | Beijing Cloisonné
北京的景泰蓝师傅叫蓝珐琅，四十七岁，是皇家工艺的第四代传人。
Beijing cloisonné master Lan Falang, forty-seven, was the fourth-generation inheritor of imperial craft.
"景泰蓝要经过上百道工序，" 她说，"每一道都不能出错。"
"Cloisonné requires over a hundred processes," she said. "None can have errors."
陕西皮影 | Shaanxi Shadow Puppetry
陕西的皮影戏师傅叫影娘，四十九岁，一个人能演一台戏。
Shaanxi shadow puppeteer Ying Niang, forty-nine, could perform an entire show alone.
"皮影是中国动画的祖先，" 她说，丰腴的身影在幕布后若隐若现，"比电影还古老。"
"Shadow puppetry is the ancestor of Chinese animation," she said, her full figure appearing and disappearing behind the screen. "Older than movies."
扬州剪纸 | Yangzhou Paper Cutting
扬州的剪纸艺人叫剪云，四十六岁，一把剪刀能剪出整个世界。
Yangzhou paper cutting artist Jian Yun, forty-six, could cut out the entire world with one pair of scissors.
"剪纸是减法艺术，" 她说，"越减越美。"
"Paper cutting is subtractive art," she said. "The more you remove, the more beautiful."
佛山木版年画 | Foshan Woodblock New Year Pictures
佛山的木版年画师傅叫年娘，四十八岁，每年印制着祝福。
Foshan woodblock New Year picture master Nian Niang, forty-eight, printed blessings every year.
"年画是中国人的年味，" 她说，丰满的手臂用力压下印版，"贴上年画才是过年。"
"New Year pictures are the Chinese New Year flavor," she said, her full arms pressing down the woodblock. "Posting them means celebrating New Year."
