第一章 | Chapter One: 鬼太鼓の島 (Island of Demon Drums)

佐渡島の海岸に、太鼓の音が響いていた。

On the coast of Sado Island, the sound of taiko echoed.

四十九歳の鼓子は、この島で最も力強い太鼓を打つ女性だった。ふくよかな体に、バチで鍛えられた逞しい腕、そして炎のような瞳。

Forty-nine-year-old Tsuzumiko was the woman who played the most powerful taiko on this island. Her full figure, sturdy arms tempered by drumsticks, and eyes like flames.

「太鼓は、心臓の鼓動。私の全身が、太鼓になるのです」

"Taiko is the heartbeat. My entire body becomes the drum."

第二章 | Chapter Two: 夜の稽古 (Night Practice)

若いパーカッショニストが、弟子入りを求めて訪れた。

A young percussionist came seeking to become a student.

鼓子は彼を夜の稽古場に連れて行った。月明かりだけが、二人を照らす。

Tsuzumiko took him to the night practice hall. Only moonlight illuminated them.

「太鼓を打つ前に、まず自分の心臓の音を聴きなさい」

"Before striking the taiko, first listen to your own heartbeat."

彼女の豊満な体が、月光に照らされて神秘的に浮かび上がった。

夜が明け、二人は海岸で朝日を眺めていた。

"The taiko's echo fades into the sea. But it remains in the heart," Tsuzumiko smiled.

"Please come to Sado again. Let's play taiko together, facing the sea."

佐渡の朝日が、二人の約束を照らしていた。
