第一章 | Chapter One: 茶人の器 (Vessels for Tea Masters)

山口県萩市に、小さな窯元があった。

In Hagi City, Yamaguchi, stood a small pottery kiln.

四十七歳の土子は、この地で最も繊細な萩焼を作る女性だった。ふくよかな体に、土で染まった指先、そして器を見つめる優しい瞳。

Forty-seven-year-old Tsuchiko was the woman who made the most delicate Hagi-ware in this region. Her full figure, fingertips stained with clay, and gentle eyes when gazing at vessels.

「萩焼は『一楽二萩三唐津』と呼ばれる茶人の器。私は、その心を守っています」

"Hagi-ware is called 'first Raku, second Hagi, third Karatsu'—vessels for tea masters. I protect that spirit."

第二章 | Chapter Two: 土と水 (Clay and Water)

茶道家が、特別な茶碗を求めて訪れた。

A tea master came seeking a special tea bowl.

土子は彼を工房に案内した。轆轤の上で、土が回っている。

Tsuchiko led him to the workshop. Clay was spinning on the wheel.

「萩の土は、柔らかく温かい。この土が、私と一体になるのです」

"Hagi clay is soft and warm. This clay becomes one with me."

彼女の豊満な手が、優しく土を成形していく。

Her plump hands gently shaped the clay.

第三章 | Chapter Three: 七化けの秘密 (Secret of Seven Transformations)

「萩焼は『萩の七化け』と呼ばれます」土子は囁いた。

"Hagi-ware is called 'Hagi's seven transformations,'" Tsuchiko whispered.

彼女は長年使い込まれた茶碗を見せた。

She showed a tea bowl used for many years.

「使い込むほど、色が変わっていく。まるで、生きているように」

"The more it's used, the more its color changes. As if it were alive."

彼女の目に、器への深い愛情が宿っていた。

Deep love for vessels dwelt in her eyes.

第四章 | Chapter Four: 窯出しの朝 (Morning of Kiln Opening)

夜が明け、窯から作品を取り出す時間になった。

As dawn broke, it was time to remove works from the kiln.

「これは、あなたのために焼いた特別な茶碗」土子は微笑んだ。

"This is a special tea bowl I fired for you," Tsuchiko smiled.

淡いピンク色の釉薬が、朝日に輝いていた。

The pale pink glaze sparkled in the morning sun.

「また、萩に来てください。この茶碗が、七化けする頃に」

"Please come to Hagi again. When this tea bowl transforms seven times."

萩の朝が、二人の約束を照らしていた。

The Hagi morning illuminated their promise.
