阿波の藍染め師 | The Indigo Dyer of Awa

第一章 | Chapter One: ジャパン・ブルー (Japan Blue)

徳島の吉野川沿いに、藍染め工房があった。

Along the Yoshino River in Tokushima stood an indigo dyeing workshop.

四十七歳の藍子は、この地で最も美しい藍を染める女性だった。ふくよかな体に、藍で染まった指先、そして藍色の瞳。

Forty-seven-year-old Aiko was the woman who dyed the most beautiful indigo in this region. Her full figure, fingertips stained with indigo, and indigo-colored eyes.

「阿波藍は、ジャパン・ブルーと呼ばれる日本の誇り。この青が、私の人生です」

"Awa indigo is called Japan Blue, Japan's pride. This blue is my life."

第二章 | Chapter Two: 藍甕の秘密 (Secret of the Indigo Vat)

ファッションデザイナーが、藍を求めて訪れた。

A fashion designer came seeking indigo.

藍子は彼を藍甕の前に案内した。深い青が、甕の中で生きているように揺らめいている。

Aiko led him before the indigo vat. Deep blue swayed in the vat as if alive.

「藍は、生き物。毎日、話しかけて育てます」

"Indigo is a living thing. I raise it by talking to it every day."

彼女の豊満な腕が、藍液に浸けた布を引き上げた。

Her plump arms lifted fabric soaked in indigo liquid.

第三章 | Chapter Three: 月下の染め (Dyeing Under the Moon)

「満月の夜に染めた藍は、特別な色になります」藍子は囁いた。

"Indigo dyed on a full moon night becomes a special color," Aiko whispered.

月明かりの下、彼女は白い布を藍甕に沈めた。

Under moonlight, she submerged white fabric into the indigo vat.

「この青は、月の光を吸い込んでいます」

"This blue has absorbed the moonlight."

彼女の肌も、藍色に染まって神秘的だった。

Her skin too was dyed indigo, looking mystical.

第四章 | Chapter Four: 朝の藍 (Morning Indigo)

夜が明け、染め上がった布を広げた。

As dawn broke, they spread out the dyed fabric.

「この色は、あなたのための特別な藍」藍子は微笑んだ。

"This color is special indigo for you," Aiko smiled.

朝日に照らされて、藍が深く輝いていた。

Illuminated by morning sun, the indigo shone deeply.

「また、阿波に来てください。次は、もっと深い青をお見せします」

"Please come to Awa again. Next time, I'll show you an even deeper blue."

吉野川の朝が、二人の約束を照らしていた。

The Yoshino River morning illuminated their promise.
