آفاق سفره عقد میچید. پنجاه ساله، با سلیقهای که عروسیها را تکمیل میکرد.

"چرا آینه تو سفره هست؟"
"Why is there a mirror in the sofreh?"
"که عروس و داماد خودشون رو ببینن."
"So the bride and groom see themselves."
"فقط خودشون رو؟"

بتول خنچه میساخت. چهل و نه ساله، با دستهایی که هدیه را هنر میکرد.

"خنچه برای چیه؟"

"برای نشون دادن عشق."

"عشق رو میشه نشون داد؟"

معصومه عاقد بود. پنجاه ساله، با صدایی که عهد را میبست.

"عروس جواب میده؟"

"نه سه بار."
"Not three times."
"چرا؟"
"Why?"
"چون عشق عجله نداره."

کبری مادر عروس بود. پنجاه و دو ساله، با نصیحتهایی که نسل به نسل رسیده بود.
