The Garden Keeper of Marrakech
Chapter One
I have worked in Jardin Majorelle for twenty-five years.
A botanist came to study.
"Your garden is paradise on earth."
Chapter Two
She was in her fifties, with true passion for plants.
"I know every plant here."
"Then be my teacher."
Chapter Three
We walked among cacti and palms.
"This plant came from Mexico."
"And I came from far away too."
Chapter Four
"Why did you really come to Morocco?"
"Escaping an empty life..."
"The garden fills emptiness."
Chapter Five
"My husband left me for a younger woman."
"A foolish man who doesn't understand beauty."
"Do you see me as beautiful?"
Chapter Six
"I see you as the most beautiful flower in the garden."
"With all my wrinkles?"
"Wrinkles are like leaves... they give character."
Chapter Seven
That night, in the blue garden.
Among flowers and under the moon.
"I will plant your memory in my heart."
Chapter Eight
She finished her research and returned.
But she returns every spring.
"To see your flowers... and to see you."
Conclusion
Gardens are places of beauty and peace.
And my garden became the place of our love.
A love that blooms every spring.
