Whitby Whisper

by Anastasia Chrome|1 min read|
"Goth festival photographer Chiamaka captures darkness—but the thick Zimbabwean vampirella cosplayer she shoots wants to capture something much more permanent."

Whitby Goth Weekend drew thousands.

Tendai stood out among all of them.

Thick curves poured into a black corset. Fake fangs. Real beauty. A vampirella who made Chiamaka forget about professional distance.

"Photograph me," Tendai requested. "Somewhere private."

"The abbey ruins?"

"Somewhere more private."

The hotel room was all black silk and candles.

Tendai posed like a predator, and Chiamaka was willing prey.

"Come closer," Tendai commanded. "Your camera lies."

"What does it say?"

"That you want me from a distance. But I want you close."

The fangs came off.

Everything else followed.

"I've been watching you all weekend," Tendai admitted. "The way you move. Your focus. I wanted to be your focus."

"You are now."

"Then consume me."

Among the goth trappings and festival spirit, they found something real.

Tendai's thick body was warm despite the vampire aesthetic. Her sounds were very human.

"Bite me," she whispered.

Chiamaka obliged.

The photos never got published.

Too private. Too intense. Too personal.

But the relationship that grew from Whitby continued.

"Best festival I ever attended," Tendai said.

"Best subject I ever shot," Chiamaka agreed.

Some darkness, they learned, was worth embracing.

Especially when shared.
