Runaway Bay Romance

by Anastasia Chrome|2 min read|
"All-inclusive resort chef Marcia feeds thousands of tourists, but when returning guest Nathan remembers her from five years ago, she serves him a very exclusive dish—herself."

Nathan remembered her. Five years ago, a lonely vacation, and a chef who'd taken the time to cook him something special off-menu.

Marcia remembered him too.

"Yuh came back," she said, thick and pleased in her chef whites.

"I never forgot that meal. Or you."

"Five years is a long time to remember."

"Some things are unforgettable."

She cooked for him again. After hours. Just them in the industrial kitchen.

"Why yuh really come back?" she asked.

"To see if the memory was real."

"And?"

"It was real. You're even more beautiful than I remembered."

"Yuh been thinking about mi for five years?"

"Every time I ate alone."

She fed him more than food that night. Her quarters above the kitchen, her thick body finally his to taste.

"Yes! Nathan! Right there!"

Five years of what-ifs becoming what-is. Every course perfectly prepared.

"Don't stop! Mi been waiting too!"

He extended his stay. Then extended his life.

"Yuh have a job back home," she said.

"I have a reason to stay here." He pulled her close. "You. You're the reason."

Nathan works resort operations now.

Marcia still cooks.

They share quarters, share meals, share everything.

Runaway Bay.

Where runaways find home.

Romance served daily.
