The Night of Stars
Chapter One: The Forgotten Scholar
In Sohar lived an astronomer called Ahmad bin Majid. He wrote books about stars and seas, but people did not care.
They said: "What use is looking at the sky? Stars do not feed!"
But Ahmad continued his research, drawing maps of the sky and calculating sea routes.
Chapter Two: The Lost Fleet
The Sultan's fleet sailed toward India when a huge storm struck. Compasses broke and the way was lost. They would die at sea!
Ahmad was on one of the ships. He told the captain: "I know the way by the stars!"
Chapter Three: The Greatest Savior
Ahmad climbed to the mast and looked at the stars. He read them as if reading a book. He said: "Head east by ten degrees!"
They followed his instructions, and after three days, the coasts of India appeared!
The fleet returned safely. The Sultan made him "Master of the Seas," and his books became a reference for all sailors in the world.
