The Bird Lagoon of Moulay Bousselham
الفصل الأول | Chapter One
أَعْمَلُ دَلِيلَ طُيُورٍ فِي مُولَايْ بُوسَلْهَامَ.
I work as a bird guide in Moulay Bousselham.
جَاءَتْ عَالِمَةُ طُيُورٍ تَدْرُسُ الهِجْرَةَ.
An ornithologist came studying migration.
"سَمِعْتُ أَنَّ هَذِهِ أَهَمُّ مَحَطَّةٍ لِلطُّيُورِ."
"I heard this is the most important bird station."
الفصل الثاني | Chapter Two
كَانَتْ فِي الخَمْسِينَ، هَادِئَةً، صَبُورَةً.
She was in her fifties, calm, patient.
"تَأْتِي هُنَا طُيُورٌ مِنْ أُورُوبَّا وَأَفْرِيقْيَا."
"Birds come here from Europe and Africa."
"مِثْلِي... جِئْتُ مِنْ بَعِيدٍ."
"Like me... I came from far."
الفصل الثالث | Chapter Three
خَرَجْنَا فِي القَارِبِ عِنْدَ الفَجْرِ.
We went out in the boat at dawn.
آلَافُ الطُّيُورِ تَمْلَأُ السَّمَاءَ.
Thousands of birds fill the sky.
"هَذَا أَجْمَلُ مَا رَأَيْتُ!"
"This is the most beautiful thing I've seen!"
الفصل الرابع | Chapter Four
"الطُّيُورُ تَعْرِفُ الطَّرِيقَ بِالغَرِيزَةِ."
"Birds know the way by instinct."
"وَأَنَا؟ هَلْ أَعْرِفُ طَرِيقِي؟"
"And me? Do I know my way?"
"رُبَّمَا... الآنَ."
"Perhaps... now."
الفصل الخامس | Chapter Five
قَضَيْنَا أَيَّامًا نُرَاقِبُ الطُّيُورَ.
We spent days watching birds.
"لِمَاذَا تُحِبُّ الطُّيُورَ؟" سَأَلَتْنِي.
"Why do you love birds?" she asked me.
"لِأَنَّهَا حُرَّةٌ."
"Because they are free."
الفصل السادس | Chapter Six
"وَأَنْتَ؟ هَلْ أَنْتَ حُرٌّ؟"
"And you? Are you free?"
"كُنْتُ... قَبْلَ أَنْ تَأْتِي."
"I was... before you came."
"وَالآنَ؟"
"And now?"
الفصل السابع | Chapter Seven
"الآنَ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَبْقَى مَعَكِ."
"Now I want to stay with you."
تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ، عَلَى شَاطِئِ البُحَيْرَةِ.
That night, on the lagoon shore.
"جَسَدُكَ دَافِئٌ كَالعُشِّ."
"Your body is warm like a nest."
الفصل الثامن | Chapter Eight
نَشَرَتْ بَحْثَهَا عَنِ الطُّيُورِ.
She published her research about birds.
وَشَكَرَتْنِي فِيهِ.
And thanked me in it.
"لِدَلِيلِ الطُّيُورِ الَّذِي عَلَّمَنِي الطَّيَرَانَ."
"To the bird guide who taught me to fly."
الخاتمة | Conclusion
الطُّيُورُ تُهَاجِرُ وَتَعُودُ.
Birds migrate and return.
وَهِيَ تَعُودُ كُلَّ مَوْسِمٍ.
And she returns every season.
حُبُّنَا كَالطُّيُورِ... يَعْرِفُ الطَّرِيقَ.
Our love is like birds... it knows the way.
