الفصل الأول | Chapter One
أَقُودُ الجِمَالَ فِي كُثْبَانِ مَرْزُوكَةَ مُنْذُ ثَلَاثِينَ سَنَةً.
I have driven camels in Merzouga dunes for thirty years.
جَاءَتْ كَاتِبَةُ سَفَرٍ تُرِيدُ تَجْرِبَةً خَاصَّةً.
A travel writer came wanting a special experience.
"أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَرَى الصَّحْرَاءَ الحَقِيقِيَّةَ."
"I want to see the real desert."
الفصل الثاني | Chapter Two
كَانَتْ فِي الخَمْسِينَ، شُجَاعَةً، مُغَامِرَةً.
She was in her fifties, brave, adventurous.
"سَأُرِيكِ صَحْرَاءَ لَمْ يَرَهَا سَائِحٌ."
"I will show you a desert no tourist has seen."
"أَنَا مُسْتَعِدَّةٌ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ."
"I am ready for everything."
الفصل الثالث | Chapter Three
رَكِبْنَا الجِمَالَ عِنْدَ الفَجْرِ.
We rode camels at dawn.
ذَهَبْنَا بَعِيدًا عَنِ المُخَيَّمَاتِ السِّيَاحِيَّةِ.
We went far from tourist camps.
"هُنَا تَبْدَأُ الصَّحْرَاءُ الحَقِيقِيَّةُ."
"Here the real desert begins."
الفصل الرابع | Chapter Four
"أَشْعُرُ بِالحُرِّيَّةِ لِأَوَّلِ مَرَّةٍ."
"I feel freedom for the first time."
"الصَّحْرَاءُ تُحَرِّرُ الرُّوحَ."
"The desert frees the soul."
"مِنْ مَاذَا تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَتَحَرَّرِي؟"
"What do you want to be freed from?"
الفصل الخامس | Chapter Five
"مِنْ حَيَاةٍ مُمِلَّةٍ... مِنْ زَوَاجٍ فَاشِلٍ."
"From a boring life... from a failed marriage."
"الصَّحْرَاءُ تُعْطِي حَيَاةً جَدِيدَةً."
"The desert gives new life."
"أُرِيدُ هَذِهِ الحَيَاةَ."
"I want this life."
الفصل السادس | Chapter Six
عِنْدَ الغُرُوبِ، نَصَبْنَا الخَيْمَةَ.
At sunset, we pitched the tent.
الكُثْبَانُ الذَّهَبِيَّةُ تَتَوَهَّجُ.
The golden dunes were glowing.
"هَذَا أَجْمَلُ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِي حَيَاتِي."
"This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in my life."
الفصل السابع | Chapter Seven
"وَأَنْتِ أَجْمَلُ مَا رَأَيْتُ أَنَا."
"And you are the most beautiful I've seen."
تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ، عَلَى الرَّمْلِ الدَّافِئِ.
That night, on the warm sand.
"جَسَدُكِ كَالكُثْبَانِ... مُنْحَنِيَاتٌ لَا تَنْتَهِي."
"Your body is like dunes... endless curves."
الفصل الثامن | Chapter Eight
كَتَبَتْ مَقَالًا عَنِ الصَّحْرَاءِ.
She wrote an article about the desert.
لَكِنَّهَا لَمْ تَكْتُبْ عَنِ اللَّيْلَةِ.
But she didn't write about the night.
"بَعْضُ الأَشْيَاءِ تَبْقَى سِرًّا بَيْنَ الرَّمْلِ وَالنُّجُومِ."
"Some things remain secret between sand and stars."
الخاتمة | Conclusion
الصَّحْرَاءُ تَكْتُمُ الأَسْرَارَ.
The desert keeps secrets.
وَسِرُّنَا مَدْفُونٌ تَحْتَ الكُثْبَانِ.
And our secret is buried under the dunes.
حُبٌّ ذَهَبِيٌّ كَرِمَالِ مَرْزُوكَةَ.
A love golden like Merzouga sands.
