The Water Seller of Marrakech
Chapter One
I sell water in Jemaa el-Fna square.
The last of the traditional water sellers.
A researcher came documenting heritage.
Chapter Two
She was in her forties, interested in history.
"You are the last one carrying this heritage."
"Heritage is dying... like me."
Chapter Three
She filmed and documented my work.
"How many years have you done this?"
"Forty years... since my childhood."
Chapter Four
"Have you taught anyone?"
"No one wants to learn."
"That's sad..."
Chapter Five
"Sadness has been my companion since my wife died."
"I'm sorry..."
"Water quenches thirst but not loneliness."
Chapter Six
"Perhaps I can help."
"How?"
"By listening... and companionship."
Chapter Seven
That night, in my old house.
"Your body is strong despite your age."
"Water preserves life."
Chapter Eight
She released a documentary about me.
"Now the world knows your heritage."
"And I know your heart."
Conclusion
Water is the origin of life.
And she gave me back life.
Drop by drop, she revived my heart.
