الفصل الأول | Chapter One
أَعْمَلُ دَلِيلًا فِي صِهْرِيجِ الجَدِيدَةِ البُرْتُغَالِيِّ.
I work as a guide in El Jadida's Portuguese cistern.
جَاءَ مُخْرِجٌ سِينِمَائِيٌّ يَبْحَثُ عَنْ مَوْقِعٍ لِلتَّصْوِيرِ.
A film director came looking for a shooting location.
"هَذَا المَكَانُ سِحْرِيٌّ."
"This place is magical."
الفصل الثاني | Chapter Two
كَانَ فِي الخَمْسِينَ، بِرُؤْيَةٍ فَنِّيَّةٍ وَاضِحَةٍ.
He was in his fifties, with a clear artistic vision.
"انْعِكَاسُ الضَّوْءِ عَلَى المَاءِ... مُذْهِلٌ."
"The light reflection on water... stunning."
"صُوِّرَتْ هُنَا أَفْلَامٌ عَالَمِيَّةٌ."
"World-famous films were shot here."
الفصل الثالث | Chapter Three
قَضَى أَيَّامًا يَدْرُسُ الإِضَاءَةَ.
He spent days studying the lighting.
"أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَفْهَمَ هَذَا المَكَانَ."
"I want to understand this place."
"أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أُسَاعِدَكَ."
"I can help you."
الفصل الرابع | Chapter Four
"لِمَاذَا تَعْمَلِينَ هُنَا؟"
"Why do you work here?"
"وَقَعْتُ فِي حُبِّ هَذَا المَكَانِ."
"I fell in love with this place."
"أَفْهَمُكِ... أَنَا أَيْضًا وَقَعْتُ."
"I understand you... I also fell."
الفصل الخامس | Chapter Five
نَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ. "فِي حُبِّ المَكَانِ؟"
I looked at him. "In love with the place?"
"فِي حُبِّ دَلِيلَتِهِ أَيْضًا."
"In love with its guide too."
صَمَتُّ. القُلُوبُ تَخُونُ أَحْيَانًا.
I was silent. Hearts betray sometimes.
الفصل السادس | Chapter Six
"أَنَا أَرْمَلَةٌ مُنْذُ سَبْعِ سَنَوَاتٍ."
"I've been a widow for seven years."
"وَأَنَا مُطَلَّقٌ مُنْذُ عَشْرٍ."
"And I've been divorced for ten."
"نَحْنُ مُتَشَابِهَانِ."
"We are alike."
الفصل السابع | Chapter Seven
تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ، فِي الصِّهْرِيجِ الفَارِغِ.
That night, in the empty cistern.
انْعِكَاسُ الشُّمُوعِ عَلَى المَاءِ.
Candle reflections on water.
"سَأُصَوِّرُ مَشْهَدَ حُبٍّ هُنَا... لَنَا."
"I'll shoot a love scene here... for us."
الفصل الثامن | Chapter Eight
صَوَّرَ فِيلْمَهُ وَنَجَحَ.
He shot his film and it succeeded.
وَشَكَرَنِي فِي الحَفْلِ.
And thanked me at the premiere.
"لِدَلِيلَتِي الَّتِي أَرَتْنِي النُّورَ فِي الظُّلْمَةِ."
"To my guide who showed me light in darkness."
الخاتمة | Conclusion
الصِّهْرِيجُ شَاهِدٌ عَلَى قُرُونٍ.
The cistern witnesses centuries.
وَالآنَ شَاهِدٌ عَلَى حُبِّنَا.
And now witnesses our love.
انْعِكَاسٌ جَمِيلٌ فِي مَاءٍ قَدِيمٍ.
A beautiful reflection in ancient water.
