Dominica Dreams
"Eco-lodge owner Valerie guides nature photographer Daniel through Dominica's rainforest—but the most stunning natural wonder he discovers is her, in the waterfall where they finally surrender."
The Nature Island lived up to its name. Daniel had never seen green this deep, water this clear, wilderness this untouched.
Then he met his guide.
Valerie was thick and earthy, at home in the rainforest like she'd grown from it. Her lodge was sustainable, her knowledge endless, her beauty unreal.
"Ready fi see the real Dominica?"
"Lead the way."
She led him through trails tourists never saw. Hot springs where they soaked muscles sore from hiking. Volcanic peaks with views that stole breath.
"Yuh good photographer," she observed.
"You're a better subject than the landscape."
"Flatterer." But she smiled. "One more place to show yuh. Special place."
The waterfall was hidden behind a curtain of vines. She pushed through, and paradise revealed itself—a perfect pool, water falling from heights unseen, sunlight filtering through canopy.
"Beautiful," he breathed.
"Yeah." She was already undressing. "It is."
They swam together in water that seemed alive. Her thick body floated beside his, dark against the crystal pool.
"Yuh know what makes this place special?" she murmured.
"What?"
"It's mine. My family, generations back." She swam closer. "Yuh the first outsider mi ever brought here."
"Why me?"
"Because yuh see things. Really see them." She kissed him. "See mi."
He saw her completely. Against the mossy rocks, water streaming over them both. That thick body opening to him like the rainforest opening to rain.
"Yes! Daniel! There!"
Their voices echoed off stone walls, mixing with the waterfall's eternal song.
Days at the lodge became weeks. Daniel's photos sold worldwide, but the best ones he kept private.
Now he lives at the edge of Valerie's property, building a life as sustainable as her lodge.
Dominica gave him purpose.
Valerie gave him home.
The Nature Island's best-kept secret.
And its most treasured.
