Cambridge Captivation

by Anastasia Chrome|2 min read|
"Rowing coach Chiamaka trains Cambridge's first eight—but the thick Zambian coxswain who commands the boat starts commanding her attention in ways that blur every professional line."

Mwaba was tiny for a coxswain.

But thick where it mattered, and commanding as they came.

Chiamaka watched her direct the boat—that voice carrying across the water, that confidence that made Olympic rowers obey.

"Eyes front, Coach," Mwaba called out. "You're distracting my crew."

Chiamaka wasn't looking at the crew.

After practice, the boathouse emptied.

Mwaba stayed, stretching muscles that didn't need stretching, watching Chiamaka watch her.

"You've been staring for weeks," Mwaba said. "Are you going to do something about it?"

"You're my athlete."

"I'm a coxswain. I don't row. Technically, you don't coach me." She approached. "Technically, there's no rule against this."

The technicality was all Chiamaka needed.

She kissed Mwaba against the boat racks, lifting her thick little body easily.

"God, I've wanted this," Mwaba breathed.

"You've been testing me."

"I've been waiting. There's a difference."

In the coxswain's private changing room, they found rhythm.

Chiamaka discovered Mwaba was even more commanding in bed—directing every touch, every kiss, every movement.

"Harder. Yes. Right there."

"Who's coaching who here?"

"Does it matter?"

It didn't.

The boat races approached.

Their affair intensified alongside the training—stolen moments in the boathouse, quiet gasps in the equipment closet.

"We could get caught," Chiamaka warned.

"We won't." That confident smile. "I have excellent awareness."

"Is that right?"

"Coach me after we win. Then decide if I'm right."

Cambridge won by two lengths.

Mwaba commanded the boat to victory and then commanded Chiamaka in the celebration that followed.

"Best coxswain I've ever worked with," Chiamaka said afterwards.

"Best coach I've ever directed." Mwaba kissed her. "Now let's talk about next season."

"The training?"

"Among other things."

Cambridge's rowing program became legendary.

The chemistry between coach and coxswain was noted by everyone.

Only they knew just how deep that chemistry went.

And the river kept their secrets, as rivers do.
