The Twin Warriors
الفصلُ الأَوَّلُ: الرَّابِطَةُ العَجِيبَةُ
Chapter One: The Wondrous Bond
فِي قَرْيَةٍ جَبَلِيَّةٍ، وُلِدَ تَوْأَمانِ: عَلِيٌّ وَعُمَرُ. مُنْذُ الوِلادَةِ، كانَتْ بَيْنَهُما رابِطَةٌ غَرِيبَةٌ. إِذا تَأَلَّمَ أَحَدُهُما، شَعَرَ الآخَرُ بِالأَلَمِ!
In a mountain village, twins were born: Ali and Omar. From birth, there was a strange bond between them. If one felt pain, the other felt the pain too!
كَبِرا وَصارا مُحارِبَيْنِ ماهِرَيْنِ. عَلِيٌّ يُتْقِنُ السَّيْفَ، وَعُمَرُ يُتْقِنُ الرُّمْحَ. وَكانا يُقاتِلانِ كَجَسَدٍ واحِدٍ.
They grew and became skilled warriors. Ali mastered the sword, Omar mastered the spear. They fought as one body.
قالَ أَبُوهُما: «أَنْتُما نِصْفانِ يُكَمِّلانِ بَعْضَهُما. لا تَتَفَرَّقا أَبَدًا.»
Their father said: "You are two halves completing each other. Never separate."
الفصلُ الثَّانِي: الغَزْوُ المُدَمِّرُ
Chapter Two: The Devastating Invasion
جاءَ جَيْشٌ أَجْنَبِيٌّ ضَخْمٌ يُرِيدُ احْتِلالَ المِنْطَقَةِ. كانُوا أَلْفًا، وَالقَرْيَةُ لَيْسَ فِيها إِلَّا خَمْسُونَ رَجُلاً.
A huge foreign army came wanting to occupy the region. They were a thousand, and the village had only fifty men.
قالَ شَيْخُ القَرْيَةِ: «لا أَمَلَ. يَجِبُ أَنْ نَفِرَّ!»
The village elder said: "There is no hope. We must flee!"
لَكِنَّ عَلِيًّا وَعُمَرَ رَفَضا. قالا: «لَنْ نَتْرُكَ أَرْضَنا. سَنُقاتِلُ حَتَّى المَوْتِ!»
But Ali and Omar refused. They said: "We shall not leave our land. We fight to the death!"
الفصلُ الثَّالِثُ: المَعْرَكَةُ المُسْتَحِيلَةُ
Chapter Three: The Impossible Battle
فِي المَضِيقِ الجَبَلِيِّ، اخْتارَ التَّوْأَمانِ مَكانَ المَعْرَكَةِ. مَكانٌ ضَيِّقٌ لا يَسْتَطِيعُ فِيهِ الجَيْشُ الكَبِيرُ اسْتِخْدامَ عَدَدِهِ.
In the mountain pass, the twins chose the battle site. A narrow place where the large army could not use its numbers.
قاتَلا يَوْمًا كامِلاً، وَاحِدٌ يَهْجُمُ وَالآخَرُ يَدْفَعُ. كَأَنَّهُما يَقْرَآنِ أَفْكارَ بَعْضِهِما.
They fought a full day, one attacking and the other defending. As if they read each other's thoughts.
قَتَلا خَمْسِينَ عَدُوًّا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصابَ عَلِيٌّ بِسَهْمٍ فِي كَتِفِهِ.
They killed fifty enemies before Ali was struck by an arrow in his shoulder.
الفصلُ الرَّابِعُ: الفِداءُ الأَخِيرُ
Chapter Four: The Final Sacrifice
شَعَرَ عُمَرُ بِأَلَمِ أَخِيهِ وَغَضِبَ غَضَبًا مُرْعِبًا! قاتَلَ كَالمَجْنُونِ، وَالأَعْداءُ يَتَراجَعُونَ.
Omar felt his brother's pain and became terrifyingly angry! He fought like a madman, and the enemies retreated.
لَكِنَّ سَهْمًا آخَرَ أَصابَ عُمَرَ. سَقَطَ التَّوْأَمانِ مَعًا.
But another arrow struck Omar. The twins fell together.
حِينَ رَأَى الغُزاةُ شَجاعَتَهُما، خافُوا وَهَرَبُوا! قالُوا: «هَذِهِ أَرْضُ شَياطِينَ!»
When the invaders saw their courage, they feared and fled! They said: "This is a land of demons!"
نَجا التَّوْأَمانِ مِنْ جُرُوحِهِما، وَصارا أُسْطُورَةً. وَكُلَّما سَأَلَهُما أَحَدٌ عَنْ سِرِّ قُوَّتِهِما، قالا: «نَحْنُ واحِدٌ فِي اثْنَيْنِ.»
The twins survived their wounds and became legends. Whenever anyone asked them about the secret of their strength, they said: "We are one in two."
