الفصلُ الأَوَّلُ: الإِرْثُ المَنْسِيُّ
Chapter One: The Forgotten Legacy
فِي مَدِينَةِ صُحارَ، حَيْثُ وُلِدَ السِّنْدِبادُ البَحْرِيُّ الأُسْطُورِيُّ، عاشَتِ امْرَأَةٌ تُدْعَى لَيْلَى. لَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَحَدٌ أَنَّها ابْنَةُ السِّنْدِبادِ مِنْ زَوْجَتِهِ الهِنْدِيَّةِ.
In the city of Sohar, where the legendary Sindbad the Sailor was born, there lived a woman called Layla. No one knew she was the daughter of Sindbad from his Indian wife.
ماتَ السِّنْدِبادُ وَتَرَكَ لَها خَرِيطَةً وَرِسالَةً: «يا ابْنَتِي، لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ عَجائِبَ الدُّنْيا، لَكِنَّنِي لَمْ أَجِدْ كَنْزَ أَجْدادِنا. هَذِهِ الخَرِيطَةُ سَتَقُودُكِ إِلَيْهِ إِنْ كُنْتِ شُجاعَةً.»
Sindbad died and left her a map and a letter: "O my daughter, I have seen the wonders of the world, but I did not find the treasure of our ancestors. This map will lead you to it if you are brave."
الفصلُ الثَّانِي: الرِّحْلَةُ المُسْتَحِيلَةُ
Chapter Two: The Impossible Voyage
ضَحِكَ مِنْها البَحَّارَةُ حِينَ طَلَبَتْ الإِبْحارَ. قالُوا: «امْرَأَةٌ قُبْطانَةٌ؟ هَذا جُنُونٌ!»
The sailors laughed when she asked to sail. They said: "A woman captain? This is madness!"
لَكِنَّ لَيْلَى وَجَدَتْ طاقِمًا مِنَ المَنْبُوذِينَ: بَحَّارٌ أَعْمَى يَعْرِفُ الرِّياحَ بِحاسَّتِهِ، وَلِصٌّ تائِبٌ يَعْرِفُ الخَرائِطَ، وَمُحارِبَةٌ فَرَّتْ مِنْ بِلادِها.
But Layla found a crew of outcasts: a blind sailor who knew the winds by sense, a repentant thief who knew maps, and a warrior woman who had fled her land.
أَبْحَرُوا نَحْوَ المَجْهُولِ، مُتَّبِعِينَ خَرِيطَةَ السِّنْدِبادِ القَدِيمَةِ.
They sailed toward the unknown, following Sindbad's ancient map.
الفصلُ الثَّالِثُ: جَزِيرَةُ التَّنانِينِ
Chapter Three: The Island of Dragons
بَعْدَ شُهُورٍ مِنَ المَخاطِرِ، وَصَلُوا إِلى جَزِيرَةٍ لَمْ تَكُنْ عَلى أَيِّ خَرِيطَةٍ. كانَتْ مَمْلُوءَةً بِمَخْلُوقاتٍ عِمْلاقَةٍ كَالتَّنانِينِ.
After months of dangers, they reached an island on no map. It was filled with giant creatures like dragons.
قالَ البَحَّارُ الأَعْمَى: «هَذِهِ مَخْلُوقاتٌ قَدِيمَةٌ، تَحْرُسُ شَيْئًا ثَمِينًا!»
The blind sailor said: "These are ancient creatures, guarding something precious!"
وَجَدَتْ لَيْلَى كَهْفًا مَخْفِيًّا، وَفِي داخِلِهِ لَيْسَ ذَهَبًا وَلا جَواهِرَ، بَلْ مَكْتَبَةً عَظِيمَةً! كُتُبٌ قَدِيمَةٌ تَحْوِي عِلْمَ الأَوَّلِينَ: طِبًّا وَفَلَكًا وَهَنْدَسَةً.
Layla found a hidden cave, and inside was not gold or jewels, but a great library! Ancient books containing the knowledge of the ancients: medicine, astronomy, and engineering.
الفصلُ الرَّابِعُ: الكَنْزُ الحَقِيقِيُّ
Chapter Four: The True Treasure
فَهِمَتْ لَيْلَى: هَذا كانَ كَنْزَ أَجْدادِها الحَقِيقِيَّ! لَيْسَ المالُ، بَلِ المَعْرِفَةُ!
Layla understood: this was her ancestors' true treasure! Not money, but knowledge!
عادَتْ إِلى عُمانَ حامِلَةً الكُتُبَ، وَأَسَّسَتْ مَدْرَسَةً لِتَعْلِيمِ العُلُومِ لِلْجَمِيعِ.
She returned to Oman carrying the books, and established a school to teach sciences to all.
قالَتْ: «أَبِي جابَ البِحارَ بَحْثًا عَنِ الكُنُوزِ. وَأَنا وَجَدْتُ أَعْظَمَ كَنْزٍ: العِلْمَ الَّذِي يُضِيءُ الظَّلامَ.»
She said: "My father roamed the seas seeking treasures. And I found the greatest treasure: knowledge that illuminates darkness."
