The Fire Dancer
الفصلُ الأَوَّلُ: المَوْهِبَةُ الخَطِيرَةُ
Chapter One: The Dangerous Gift
فِي قَرْيَةٍ صَغِيرَةٍ، وُلِدَ طِفْلٌ غَرِيبٌ. حِينَ بَكَى أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ، اشْتَعَلَتْ شَمْعَةٌ قَرِيبَةٌ مِنْ تِلْقاءِ نَفْسِها!
In a small village, a strange child was born. When he cried for the first time, a nearby candle lit by itself!
كَبُرَ الطِّفْلُ وَسُمِّيَ نارًا. وَكَبُرَتْ مَعَهُ قُدْرَتُهُ الغَرِيبَةُ: كانَ يَسْتَطِيعُ التَّحَكُّمَ فِي النَّارِ بِحَرَكاتِ يَدَيْهِ!
The child grew and was named Nar. His strange ability grew with him: he could control fire with his hand movements!
خافَ النَّاسُ مِنْهُ. قالُوا: «هَذا عَمَلُ شَيْطانٍ!»
People feared him. They said: "This is the work of a devil!"
لَكِنَّ أُمَّهُ حَمَتْهُ وَقالَتْ: «كُلُّ مَوْهِبَةٍ مِنَ اللهِ. الشَّيْطانُ لا يَخْلُقُ، فَقَطْ يُفْسِدُ.»
But his mother protected him and said: "Every gift is from God. The devil does not create, only corrupts."
الفصلُ الثَّانِي: الرَّاقِصُ المُتَخَفِّي
Chapter Two: The Hidden Dancer
هَرَبَ نارٌ مِنَ القَرْيَةِ وَذَهَبَ إِلى المَدِينَةِ. هُناكَ، انْضَمَّ إِلى فِرْقَةٍ لِلْعُرُوضِ. تَعَلَّمَ كَيْفَ يَرْقُصُ مَعَ النَّارِ بِطَرِيقَةٍ تَبْدُو عادِيَّةً.
Nar fled the village and went to the city. There, he joined a performance troupe. He learned how to dance with fire in a way that appeared ordinary.
صارَ أَشْهَرَ راقِصِ نارٍ فِي عُمانَ. الجَمِيعُ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّها خِفَّةُ يَدٍ، لَكِنَّها كانَتْ قُدْرَةً حَقِيقِيَّةً.
He became the most famous fire dancer in Oman. Everyone thought it was sleight of hand, but it was a real power.
الفصلُ الثَّالِثُ: الحَرِيقُ الكَبِيرُ
Chapter Three: The Great Fire
ذاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، اشْتَعَلَ حَرِيقٌ كَبِيرٌ فِي السُّوقِ. كانَتِ النَّارُ تَلْتَهِمُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ، وَالنَّاسُ يَصْرُخُونَ.
One night, a great fire broke out in the market. The flames were devouring everything, and people were screaming.
دَخَلَ نارٌ فِي قَلْبِ الحَرِيقِ. رَقَصَ رَقْصَةً غَرِيبَةً، وَيَداهُ تَتَحَرَّكانِ كَأَنَّهُما تَأْمُرانِ النَّارَ.
Nar entered the heart of the fire. He danced a strange dance, his hands moving as if commanding the flames.
شَيْئًا فَشَيْئًا، بَدَأَتِ النَّارُ تَتَراجَعُ! كَأَنَّها حَيَوانٌ مُطِيعٌ يَسْمَعُ سَيِّدَهُ!
Little by little, the fire began to retreat! As if it were an obedient animal hearing its master!
الفصلُ الرَّابِعُ: البَطَلُ المَكْشُوفُ
Chapter Four: The Revealed Hero
أَخْمَدَ نارٌ الحَرِيقَ وَأَنْقَذَ مِئاتِ الأَرْواحِ. لَكِنَّ سِرَّهُ انْكَشَفَ!
Nar extinguished the fire and saved hundreds of lives. But his secret was revealed!
بَعْضُ النَّاسِ خافُوا، لَكِنَّ الأَغْلَبِيَّةَ شَكَرُوهُ. قالَ الوالِي: «أَنْتَ بَطَلٌ. مَوْهِبَتُكَ نِعْمَةٌ، لا لَعْنَةٌ.»
Some people feared, but most thanked him. The wali said: "You are a hero. Your gift is a blessing, not a curse."
صارَ نارٌ حارِسَ المَدِينَةِ مِنَ الحَرائِقِ. وَعَلَّمَ النَّاسَ: «المَوْهِبَةُ لَيْسَتْ خَيْرًا وَلا شَرًّا. إِنَّها مِرْآةٌ لِصاحِبِها.»
Nar became the city's guardian against fires. He taught people: "A gift is neither good nor evil. It is a mirror of its owner."
