Chapter One: The Mysterious Illness
The Sultan's only son fell ill with a disease no one knew. Physicians came from everywhere: from India, Persia, and Egypt. None could heal him.
The Sultan said: "Whoever heals my son, I shall give half my kingdom!"
A young physician from Nizwa called Jabir heard of this, one who had learned medicine from ancient books and from observing nature.

Chapter Two: The Unknown Physician
Jabir entered the palace. The senior physicians laughed: "What is this boy doing here?"
But Jabir examined the prince carefully. He asked about his food, drink, and sleep. He looked at his eyes, tongue, and nails.
He said: "I know the illness! It is slow poisoning from the new well water!"

Chapter Three: Healing and Reward
They changed the water and gave the prince natural herbs Jabir prescribed. After a week, the prince was completely healed!
The Sultan said: "Take half the kingdom as I promised!"
Jabir said: "I want no kingdom, my lord. I want one thing: that you build a medical school where sons of poor and rich can learn."
The school was built, and Jabir became its first teacher. Generations of physicians graduated from it.
