The Calligrapher's Secret

الفصلُ الأَوَّلُ: أُسْتاذُ الخَطِّ

Chapter One: The Master of Script

فِي نِزْوَى القَدِيمَةِ، كانَ هُناكَ خَطَّاطٌ يُدْعَى عَبْدَالرَّحِيمِ. كانَتْ يَداهُ تَكْتُبانِ كَأَنَّهُما مِنَ الجَنَّةِ، وَخُطُوطُهُ تُزَيِّنُ المَساجِدَ وَالقُصُورَ.

In ancient Nizwa, there was a calligrapher named Abdulrahim. His hands wrote as if they were from paradise, and his scripts adorned mosques and palaces.

طَلَبَ مِنْهُ الإِمامُ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ مُصْحَفًا لِلْمَسْجِدِ الجامِعِ، فَكانَ هَذا أَعْظَمَ شَرَفٍ فِي حَياتِهِ.

The Imam asked him to write a Quran for the grand mosque, and this was the greatest honor of his life.

لَكِنَّ عَبْدَالرَّحِيمِ كانَ يَحْمِلُ سِرًّا ثَقِيلاً.

But Abdulrahim carried a heavy secret.

الفصلُ الثَّانِي: الظُّلْمُ المَخْفِيُّ

Chapter Two: The Hidden Injustice

عَرَفَ عَبْدَالرَّحِيمِ أَنَّ الوَزِيرَ يَسْرِقُ أَمْوالَ الفُقَراءِ. رَأَى بِعَيْنَيْهِ الوَثائِقَ المُزَوَّرَةَ وَالحِساباتِ الكاذِبَةَ.

Abdulrahim knew that the minister was stealing the poor's money. He saw with his own eyes the forged documents and false accounts.

أَرادَ أَنْ يُخْبِرَ الإِمامَ، لَكِنَّ الوَزِيرَ هَدَّدَهُ بِقَتْلِ عائِلَتِهِ.

He wanted to tell the Imam, but the minister threatened to kill his family.

قالَ لِنَفْسِهِ: «كَيْفَ أَكْشِفُ الحَقِيقَةَ دُونَ أَنْ أُعَرِّضَ أَهْلِي لِلْخَطَرِ؟»

He said to himself: "How do I reveal the truth without endangering my family?"

الفصلُ الثَّالِثُ: الرِّسالَةُ الخَفِيَّةُ

Chapter Three: The Hidden Message

فَجْأَةً، جاءَتْهُ الفِكْرَةُ: سَيَكْتُبُ رِسالَةً سِرِّيَّةً داخِلَ زَخارِفِ المُصْحَفِ!

Suddenly, the idea came to him: he would write a secret message within the ornaments of the Quran!

اِسْتَخْدَمَ نِظامًا مِنَ النُّقَطِ وَالخُطُوطِ الدَّقِيقَةِ. لَنْ يَراها إِلَّا مَنْ يَعْرِفُ مِفْتاحَها.

He used a system of dots and fine lines. Only one who knew the key would see it.

كَتَبَ فِيها: «الوَزِيرُ سارِقٌ. الوَثائِقُ مَخْبُوءَةٌ فِي قَبْوِ بَيْتِهِ.»

He wrote in it: "The minister is a thief. The documents are hidden in his house's cellar."

ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ المِفْتاحَ إِلى قاضٍ أَمِينٍ يَثِقُ بِهِ.

Then he sent the key to a trustworthy judge he trusted.

الفصلُ الرَّابِعُ: العَدالَةُ المُتَأَخِّرَةُ

Chapter Four: Delayed Justice

ماتَ عَبْدَالرَّحِيمِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرَى العَدالَةَ. لَكِنَّ القاضِيَ قَرَأَ الرِّسالَةَ وَكَشَفَ الوَزِيرَ.

Abdulrahim died before seeing justice. But the judge read the message and exposed the minister.

عُزِلَ الوَزِيرُ وَسُجِنَ، وَأُعِيدَتِ الأَمْوالُ لِلْفُقَراءِ.

The minister was removed and imprisoned, and the money was returned to the poor.

قالَ الإِمامُ أَمامَ النَّاسِ: «عَبْدَالرَّحِيمِ لَمْ يَكُنْ خَطَّاطًا فَقَطْ. كانَ بَطَلاً صامِتًا دافَعَ عَنِ الحَقِّ بِقَلَمِهِ.»

The Imam said before the people: "Abdulrahim was not just a calligrapher. He was a silent hero who defended truth with his pen."

وَبَقِيَ المُصْحَفُ الَّذِي كَتَبَهُ أَثَرًا خالِدًا، شاهِدًا عَلى أَنَّ الكَلِمَةَ أَقْوَى مِنَ السَّيْفِ.

And the Quran he wrote remained an immortal relic, a witness that the word is mightier than the sword.
