The Church of the Annunciation was crowded with pilgrims.
"?אתה אבוד?" asked the woman. "Are you lost?"
"קצת." "A little."
"אני מארי. אני גרה פה כל החיים. אני יכולה לעזור." "I'm Mary. I've lived here all my life. I can help."
פרק שני | Chapter Two
His name was Eli. From Haifa. Secular.
"?למה באת לנצרת?" "Why did you come to Nazareth?"
"ללמוד על מקום שלא מכיר." "To learn about a place I don't know."
"?יהודי לא מכיר נצרת?" "A Jew doesn't know Nazareth?"
"יהודים לא מכירים הרבה דברים שקרובים אלינו." "Jews don't know a lot of things that are close to us."
פרק שלישי | Chapter Three
She showed him the old city. The churches. The mosques.
"?פה גרים מוסלמים ונוצרים ביחד?" "Here Muslims and Christians live together?"
"כבר מאות שנים." "For hundreds of years."
"?ויהודים?" "And Jews?"
"יש כאלה שמבקרים." Her smile was meaningful. "There are some who visit."
פרק רביעי | Chapter Four
The restaurant on the roof. View of the whole city.
"?את יודעת שזה מסובך?" "Do you know this is complicated?"
"הכל בארץ הזאת מסובך." "Everything in this country is complicated."
"!אבל אני יהודי ואת נוצרייה ערבייה!" "But I'm Jewish and you're a Christian Arab!"
"אז מה? אלוהים אוהב את כולם." "So what? God loves everyone."
פרק חמישי | Chapter Five
He moved to Haifa. She stayed in Nazareth. They met in the middle.
"?אנחנו עושים נס?" "Are we making a miracle?"
"אנחנו עושים חיים." "We're making a life."
"?זה לא אותו דבר?" "Isn't that the same thing?"
"בנצרת? בהחלט." "In Nazareth? Absolutely."
