The Ayalon was stopped. Again. Two hours, no movement.
The woman in the next car was crying.
"?את בסדר?" he mouthed through the window. "Are you okay?"
She shook her head.
"!פתחי חלון!" "Open the window!"
פרק שני | Chapter Two
Her name was Adi. Her father just died. She was driving to the funeral.
"אני לא אספיק," she sobbed. "I won't make it."
"אולי כן." "Maybe you will."
"?איך אתה יודע?" "How do you know?"
"אני לא יודע. אבל אני פה." "I don't know. But I'm here."
פרק שלישי | Chapter Three
They talked. Window to window. Car to car.
"?מאיפה אתה?" "Where are you from?"
"מכל מקום. ומשום מקום." "From everywhere. And nowhere."
"?זאת לא תשובה" "That's not an answer."
"זאת התשובה היחידה שיש לי עכשיו." "It's the only answer I have right now."
פרק רביעי | Chapter Four
Traffic moved. Slowly.
"!תני לי את הטלפון שלך!" "Give me your number!"
"?למה?" "Why?"
"!כי אני לא רוצה להפסיד אותך!" "Because I don't want to lose you!"
"!אבל אנחנו לא מכירים!" "But we don't know each other!"
"אחרי שעתיים? אנחנו מכירים יותר טוב מכולם!" "After two hours? We know each other better than anyone!"
פרק חמישי | Chapter Five
She made it to the funeral. He was waiting outside.
"?מה אתה עושה פה?" "What are you doing here?"
"חיכיתי." "I waited."
"?למה?" "Why?"
"כי לפעמים, מישהו צריך מישהו. גם אם הם נפגשו בפקק." "Because sometimes, someone needs someone. Even if they met in traffic."
