פרק ראשון | Chapter One
The harbor in Akko was ancient. Mahmoud's family had fished there for generations.
"?אפשר לצאת לים איתך?" asked the tourist. "Can I go out to sea with you?"
"?למה?" "Why?"
"כי זה נראה יפה." "Because it looks beautiful."
"את תקיאי." "You'll vomit."
"אני מוכנה לסיכון." "I'm willing to risk it."
פרק שני | Chapter Two
She didn't vomit. She watched the sunrise over the old walls.
"?מאיפה את?" "Where are you from?"
"תל אביב." "Tel Aviv."
"בועה." "Bubble."
"?מה זאת אומרת?" "What does that mean?"
"שאתם לא יודעים איך החיים האמיתיים." "That you don't know how real life is."
"אז תלמד אותי." "Then teach me."
פרק שלישי | Chapter Three
Days passed. She stayed.
"?למה את לא חוזרת?" "Why aren't you going back?"
"כי פה אני מרגישה משהו." "Because here I feel something."
"?את מרגישה את עכו?" "You feel Akko?"
"אני מרגישה אותך." "I feel you."
פרק רביעי | Chapter Four
In his boat, at night, the sea rocked them gently.
"!מחמוד... אנשים יראו!" "Mahmoud... people will see!"
"הים לא רואה." "The sea doesn't see."
"!אבל אני יהודייה ואתה—" "But I'm Jewish and you—"
"ואני דייג. ואת אישה. זה הכל." "And I'm a fisherman. And you're a woman. That's everything."
פרק חמישי | Chapter Five
She moved to Akko. Opened a small gallery.
"?את מרוצה?" "Are you satisfied?"
"יש לי את הים, יש לי אמנות, ויש לי אותך." "I have the sea, I have art, and I have you."
"אבל החברים שלך—" "But your friends—"
"מי שאוהב אותי יבין. מי שלא יבין—לא באמת אוהב אותי." "Those who love me will understand. Those who don't understand—don't really love me."

בעכו, צלבנים, מוסלמים, יהודים וערבים חיו וגוועו. הים ראה הכל. והים ממשיך לזרום.
