Abbey Wood Affair
"Archaeologist Dr. Efe leads digs at the Abbey Wood ruins. When history student Marcus interns on her excavation, she shows him that some treasures are best discovered in private."
The Abbey Wood dig was Marcus's summer internship—real archaeology instead of just textbooks. Dr. Efe ran the site with brilliant efficiency, and he tried not to stare.
She was Nigerian-British, mid-forties, thick curves that made cargo pants look good, her natural hair always tied back under a bandana. When she got excited about a find, her whole face transformed.
"You're not bad," she said one evening, reviewing his trench notes. "Careful. Patient. Good instincts."
"Thanks, Dr. Efe."
"Efe. After hours, just Efe." Her eyes held something beyond professional assessment. "Stay behind tonight. I want to show you something special."
The site at twilight was magical—ancient walls emerging from earth, history tangible in the air. Efe led him to a private trench, covered from view.
"I found this yesterday. Haven't reported it yet." She brushed away more dirt, revealing carved stone. "Do you know what this is?"
"Roman? Maybe earlier?"
"Earlier. Much earlier. And here..." She traced the carving. "This symbol. It's fertility. Worship. Connection."
"It's beautiful."
"It's powerful." She looked at him. "This stone has seen thousands of years of human desire. Want to add to its history?"
She kissed him there among the ruins, tasting of dust and determination. Her thick body pressed against his, warm despite the evening chill.
"I don't usually do this," she admitted. "But something about you. About this place. About finally finding something worth celebrating."
"What are we celebrating?"
"Discovery." Her hands worked his belt. "The most primal act of archaeology."
They made love on the ancient ground, surrounded by history, her thick body connected to everything that had come before.
"Yes... there... this is what those stones remember..."
She came crying out to the ancient sky, and he followed, their passion joining millennia of humanity who'd felt the same on this spot.
"Best field experience ever," he gasped.
"You'll be on the dig all summer," she said afterward, still lying in the trench. "I have plans for you."
"Professional or..."
"Both. You have talent. Let me nurture it." She kissed him softly. "And after hours, you can nurture me."
"Is this ethical?"
"History is full of passionate partnerships. We're just adding to the tradition." She smiled against his lips. "Now come. We need to cover this trench before the night crew arrives."
His Abbey Wood affair had uncovered more than ancient stones. And Marcus had found history worth making.
